"Octo-Clops"

Film: Monster from the Ocean Floor (1954)

Alias: None

Type: Unknown

Location: Ocean

Height/Weight: Described as being bigger than 3 wagons.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Scuba diving is fun! Except when it isn't. And lordy, can things go south quickly. The ocean is a breeding ground for unknown terrors, like that monster amoeba that scared everyone into hysterics.

History: For years, a seaside village in Mexico was under the thumb of terror. A monstrous amoeba of unknown origin had been haunting their waters, and there seemed to be no end to its reign. Many started to grow desperate and believe that only a virgin sacrifice would make it go away. They thought an American newcomer would suffice.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The man who came up with the sacrifice wizens up and lets the professionals take it from there. The solution? Ram a submarine into the beast's one eye. It worked.

Powers/Abilities: Nothing outside strength.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 1.5-This is what that village was afraid of?! Aside from being not very powerful, this thing has what looks like a glowing thumb for a face and the stubbiest tentacles we've ever seen on a cephalopod just short of a dumbo octopus. It's not very impressive.

Trivia: -This was Roger Corman's first production.

-Oh, and Corman claims to have sacrificed his apartment and some of his life insurance to make this. Eh, worth it.

Hey, if this film isn't going to try, let's not let the images try at all. Anyway, here is the creature's final moment.
